Christian Anti-Semitism
'Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.
Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up'
(The text recalls v.3, 'Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me.' which includes reference to a great multitude of the Jewish nation yet to be ingathered to their Messiah and in their promised land)

'Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy. And I am very sore displeased [angry] with the heathen that are at ease:
for I was but a little displeased [angry], and they helped forward the affliction.' Zech.1.14b-15

It is often claimed that a love of justice in the Middle East will impede our witness to Muslims - nothing could be further from the truth.

Evangelical ostriches who turn a blind eye to the violent typhoon of Muslim hatred of the Jews will never be able to call for repentance from anything else.

The Hope of Israel -  the effect of the message of the cross on Arab and Palestinian Christians

'The more I studied the Bible, the more I discovered that the covenant promises God made with Abraham and his people, are for ever and ever and ever. In the early days of my ministry I did not pay them any attention. But more recently I have come to realise that these ancient promises are just as relevant today as they were then. And that discovery really stirred and blessed my heart. These were not my ideas! I read them in God's word. I do not believe that anybody has the authority to change God's word and his promises! No one can switch or twist it - it is God's word and we have to believe it just as it is written. My faith in God's word is my priority. It's the most important thing in my life. If we don't want to put Jesus first above all things, I do not think we can call ourselves believers in god's word or in the Lord Jesus Christ. He said, "I came not to destroy the Law, but to fulfill it." And we have to accept that. Consequently I believe in the biblical promises for God's chosen people, the Jews, and for Israel, the Promised Land, regardless of whether like it or not; regardless of the political situation - I don't have anything to do with politics. My position is completely based on God's word.' It breaks my heart to see born again evangelical leaders taking the position of Replacement Theology and being anti-Israel in so many ways; I am taking here of Palestinian Christians living in the West Bank and in East Jerusalem. I breaks my heart because it causes me to break my fellowship with them because I stand on the promises of God to his people and the land of Israel because the covenant was made with his chosen people and it is an everlasting covenant, regardless of the wrong things they are doing now. I believe we should not mix politics with spiritual matters - we cannot see clearly if we do that. Rather I believe need to keep standing on the promises of God towards his Jewish people until the day when we see these things fulfilled. Because of the present situation and tensions and troubles it's hard for many to believe that these things can ever change. but I believe in the word of God. That's the position I am taking. And because of my position I have been harassed a lot by Muslims and Christians. Our church has been bombed 14 times over the past ten years. In September 2003 I was shot whilst I was getting out of my car in our driveway; one bullet went into my left arm and the other two missed me. That means the enemy is trying to silence me. But there is good news - we have victory in Jesus. It is not yet time for me to die! There are many things that need to be accomplished before Jesus comes back again. So I am not going to give up. I am not going to stop preaching the truth, the whole truth from the word of God, both the Old Testament and the New Testament.'
